Flush After Changing Registry

Hello community,

 

I developed an ABAP function, which changes the Windows registry - here add some keys for registering an ActiveX library. But direct after the changing it is not possible to create the object of the library. It is necessary to restart the ABAP program, to use the new keys from the Windows registry. I check Call Method cl_gui_cfw=>flush but with no success. Is there a way, after the changing of the Windows registry, to use the new keys, without restarting the ABAP program?

Possible to Release ActiveX Library with Free Object

Hello community,

 

I developed an ABAP program, which installs and registers an ActiveX library temporary on the presentation server. After the using I want to delete it from the presentation server. But it is not possible, because the SAP Logon locks the ActiveX library. Itis possible after theSAP Logonhas beenstopped and restarted. Is there a way to unlock the ActiveX library from the SAP Logon on runtime?

Hi Sriram,

I'm using SAP GUI for Java v7.30 R3. I'm not able to find any "SAP GUI Options" setting anywhere in the menu. Even the install bin folder contains bat files that open only GUI Logon. I guess the preferences window you're showing above is in SAP GUI for Windows.

Hi Eric,

I'm already on 7.30 R3... Now the GUI is starting up without any issues. The Access Violation error is coming up when I try to login to a server. I'm using Web AS ABAP and expert mode configuration.

When ever I press the Connect button, the Access Violation Error is showing up. Same connection works fine in GUI v7.20 R15.

Hello Sriram,

 

thanks for your reply. The perspective you described is to use a program on the presentation server without context to an ABAP program on the application server. But I want toperformexactlythis procedure withan ABAP program. When I finishthe SAPLogonwithtaskkill,I losetheconnection to myABAP program. My target is to release an ActiveXlibrary, without restarting theSAP Logon, to delete it from the presentation server via an ABAP program.

Well, I've tried Safari and Chrome on MacOS and IE9 and Chrome on Windows, all with the same result. I could try Firefox on both, but I'm not sure I'd expect a different outcome.

 

If you can suggest which settings affect this I can check them. Maybe the default settings happen to be wrong in all browsers?

tx.sap download hangs on IE8

Hi Guys,

The above replies could not resolve my issue.

I upgraded the browser from IE8 to IE9 and everything worked fine after that.

Possibly some issue with the Explorer 8.

Major problems installing GUI v7.30

Hi folks,

 

Has anyone else had any issues installing version 7.30 of the SAP GUI?

 

It just will not install for me.  I have a little over 300 PCs to upgrade, mainly from v7.20 to v7.30 with a small number from v7.10 to v7.30.

 

I have tried every single different scenario I can think of:

 

1) Out of the box PCs

2) Installing 7.30 over 7.10

3) Installing 7.30 over 7.20

4) Removing 7.10 before installing 7.30

5) Removing 7.20 before installing 7.30

6) Remote installations

7) Manual "at the PC" installations

8) Installing logged in as a Domain Admin

9) Running the .exe as Domain Admin but logged in as the power user

10) Uninstalling previous version and removing all traces of SAP before installing 7.30 (registry/directories)

11) Switching off Anti-Virus before installing

12) Attempted installations on Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows XP.

13) Attempted installations on both 32 bit and 64 Windows Operating Systems.

 

The end result has now been the same on 22 out of 24 attempts.  The installation finishes with 231 errors (always 231) and when I try run the software I get the following message:

 

"The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

 

I have raised this issue with SAP, followed a long list of instructions whilst some debugging software is running to collect data.  I've sent the log files to them to which they reply and tell me that the log file states the software was installed correctly.  Which is WRONG!!

 

And besides, even if it did, it's unacceptable to have to perform these actions (taking over an hour) to install the latest GUI over 300 times!!

 

Since then, SAP have gone quiet.  I don't want to try anymore until I fix this.

 

The 2 out of the 24 that worked were identical to 6 of the PCs that failed (both in hardware and software, even down to Windows Updates!).  There seems to be no pattern.

 

Has anyone out there experienced issues installing 7.30?

GUI Linux 7.3 Rev. 3

Hello,

 

  

after installing the new SAP client for Linux 7.3 Rev. 3, some information output on the client window shows the following error:

"No pilot configured for 'application/x-mozilla-bookmarks'"

For example the transaction DB13: Clicking on the button to showing the action protocol, the system creates a  temp file on the "/tmp/root/SAPGUI/tmp", after that  firefox opens and shows that file which contain the message:

/tmp/root/SAPGUI/tmp/HTML000001.htm could not be found.

In the upper Window of the SAP Client there is the message: "No pilot configured für 'application/x-mozilla-bookmarks'"

Normally there should be the following text:

 

BRCONNECT Aktionsprotkoll für Datenbank L01 

Vom:   17.07.2013 12:10:31

Logfile:   celqvyzf.chk

Return code:   0001 Erfolg mit Warnungen

Datenbankrechner:   kons

 

This happens with some other transactions too.

Formerly I had 7.1 installed with no such behavior.

Possibly also a corrupt download of the dvd.

Recommend you should download the latest compilation 2 DVD and try once.

Hi Paul,

 

Please take a look at SAP Note 1553465 Prerequisites for 720/721 EXT and higher kernels on Windows.

 

Each SAP kernel has program dependencies on the Microsoft C-runtime. Since the C-runtime is not part of the kernel, you have to install the relevant C-runtime before you start the SAP system. Otherwise, you will get an error message similar to this:

This application has failed to start because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

 

I would highly recommend applying the latest SAPSETUP 9.0 patch 36 as part of your solution.

Staying within the Personas "bubble"

You don't have to play with Personas for long before you realise that it is a user experience tool and not just a user interface tool. What do I mean by that? It is straightforward to take a SAPgui transaction and simplify it by removing fields you don't need, merging tabs, etc. and to make it prettier by adding background images, changing colours, and so on. To do that to individual transactions in isolation, though, completely misses the point in my mind. To flip between simplified and standard transactions is jarring and provides a disjoint user experience. Personas is at its best when a user encounters only Personas-enhanced transactions. When they stay within a "Personas bubble".

 

It seems to me this has lots of implications for a Personas project. You will likely end up simplifying/prettifying more transactions that you expected, even transactions that aren't already complex, because you need to build matching sets. You will also have to choose your users carefully. Users that have access to just a small set of SAP transactions will be much easier to accommodate than users that have access to lots of transactions.

 

What do other people think? Does it make sense to simplify just a small number of transactions and so have users switching between Personas and non-Personas UX, or do you really need to think on a larger scale and keep users in a Personas bubble?

SAP GUI 7.30 JNet registration errors on 64 Bit Windows 7

Hi all,

 

I've created a package to deploy SAP GUI 7.30 to my machines, and it works fine on Win7 x86 machines.  On x64 machines, I see the following error in the NWSapSetup.log:

This is being run on the machine in the System context, and again, it works fine on 32 bit systems, just not on 64 bit systems.  All of the machines are running either Java 6, or Java 7.  I've checked the deployment guide and done some googling, and I'm not finding anything.  Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Control icons are not coming up on the SAP Persons Development enviroment

The control icons are not coming up on the SAP Persons .We have applied the note  Note 1867014 - Personas UI issues fixes: Latest XAP file  which talks about fixing it but with no luck .I am attaching the screen shot of the screen .

 

Please advise .

Hi all

I am sorry but I hav e the same problem. I am running SAP, oracle 102 hp-ux

 

I have changed the port sapdp00 3200/tcp to

sapdp00 3600/tcp because I could telnet srvmap20 3600 but not able to connect srvmap20 3200.

 

I am sitll not able to connect via sapgui 730.

 

The oracle and sap are up and running
